The Easy-Peasy Story
Every Easy-Peasy Pom-Pom Maker started with a simple idea: crafting should feel fun, relaxing and easy for everyone.
The story began in Bromsgrove when inventor David Northcote’s wife, June — an avid knitter — asked him to help make pom-poms for her baby knitting projects.
Searching for a pom-pom maker, David quickly discovered that many available designs were either sold out or far too complicated to use comfortably. One pom-pom maker he purchased was so difficult to operate that he decided there had to be a better way.
So at the age of 80, David headed out to his garden shed in Lickey, cut up some plastic by hand and began experimenting with his own homemade design.
The result was a simple, clever pom-pom maker that was easier, faster and far more enjoyable to use. When June showed it to friends and family members who loved knitting and crafts, the response was immediate.
“They’re easy-peasy to use!”
The name instantly stuck.
Encouraged by the positive feedback, David officially registered and patented his design. Over time, he continued improving the idea, experimenting with different materials and creating several new variations of the Easy-Peasy maker.
Today, the range includes multiple sizes and styles, including larger pom-pom makers designed especially for people with arthritic hands — helping more people continue enjoying crafts, creativity and knitting comfortably.
What makes Easy-Peasy different is its simplicity. The makers can create single pom-poms, double pom-poms and even 3D pom-pom creations — opening up endless possibilities for colourful crafting projects.
Despite investing thousands of pounds of his own savings into developing the product, David continued believing in the idea and producing the makers himself with care and dedication.
